Terminal Maintenance Manager
The Terminal Maintenance Manager (TMM) is Gordon Trucking’s local representative and administrator for the
maintenance facility, employees, vendors, and local officials. The overall maintenance effort is managed by the TMM.
Employees at the facility will look to the TMM as a mentor, coach, disciplinarian, and the person who enforces
company policy. This position requires a person to be confident, courteous, and well spoken.
Maintenance Team Leader
The Maintenance Team Leader (MTL) is Gordon Trucking’s key link between the organization, drivers and technicians.
The primary responsibility of this position is to coach/mentor approximately 10 technicians and achieve specific
customer service and key factor goals. These goals include meeting all customer service estimated time of availability
requirements, achieving equipment performance standards, maintaining an excellent safety record and retaining safe
technicians who provide excellent customer service.
The Service Writer is responsible for managing the workflow within the shop by working with drivers and
Maintenance Team Leaders to schedule equipment for repair. This person is responsible for scheduling and prioritizing
work, ordering parts, inventory control, opening and closing repair orders and purchase orders. The Service Writer is
responsible for insuring proper data integrity is maintained throughout the shop and the RO’s are properly filled in
prior to processing.
The Parts Associate is responsible for managing the parts inventory within the facility. They are responsible for
ordering parts and managing appropriate inventory levels as well as completing all parts related paperwork. They are
directly involved in organization and efficiency of parts room, including part labels, numbers, and location. Additionally
they are responsible for insuring proper data integrity is maintained throughout the shop and the RO’s are properly
filled in prior to processing.
Mechanic (Fleet Technician)
The Fleet Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance and service of all GTI equipment while conducting
operations in a safe manner. They are responsible for communicating directly with supervisor on maintenance or repairs
that require additional attention.
Terminal Tire Specialist
The Terminal Tire Specialist (TTS) is the person who represents Gordon Trucking as the local contact person for tire
vendors and terminal tire needs. Employees at the facility will look to the TTS as a mentor, coach and the person who
enforces company tire policy and therefore this position requires a person to be confident, courteous, and well spoken.
The TTS is Responsible for the inspection, maintenance and service of all GTI equipment and for the implementation of
GTI “On-Track” tire program.
The Breakdown Specialist is responsible for authorizing repairs over-the-road. This requires analyzing the situation
using repair stances, operation’s input, repair options, and safety guidelines to determine when and where to authorize
the repair. The mission is to get the vehicle operating safely as quickly possible while maintaining cost control. Another
key function of the Breakdown Specialist is to communicate over-the-road situations with interfacing departments. The
Breakdown Specialist will be required to multi-task, make quick decisions, handle sensitive situations, and take
initiative above and beyond the details of the job description.
